What we offer
- Take ownership of multi-jurisdictional corporate tax compliance, tax accounting and tax support for strategic initiatives and transactions in a hands-on manager role.
- Prepare and file U.S. federal corporate income tax returns for the group, including Forms 1120, 5471, 1118 and the 899x series, as well as multi-state income and franchise tax returns.
- Record tax payments via journal entries, maintain accurate general ledger reconciliations and prepare year-end tax provisions for the U.S. consolidated group and Canadian entity.
- Manage federal, state and local tax audits, inquiries, notices and other tax matters, coordinating responses and negotiating resolutions where needed.
- Oversee preparation and filing of sales & use tax returns, Canadian GST/HST returns, property tax returns and annual filings such as FBAR and Form 1042.
- Oversee the SAP tax engine, assisting with updates, changes and migrations, and ensuring that tax settings and processes support accurate and efficient compliance.
- Analyze legislative and regulatory changes for their impact on the business; partner with Finance, Legal, Operations and other functions to support strategic initiatives and transactions, and develop and maintain effective tax controls, processes and documentation.
What sets you apart
- Bringing at least 8+ years of progressive corporate tax experience, gained in public accounting, a corporate tax department or a mix of both.
- Demonstrated experience supporting complex organizations with multiple entities, business lines or jurisdictions, and managing tax compliance, tax accounting and tax planning responsibilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation or a related field; a CPA, Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent professional certification is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. corporate federal and state income tax regulations and expertise in consolidated federal and multi-state tax return preparation.
- Experience supporting federal and state tax audits, handling inquiries and notices, and resolving complex tax issues.
- Exposure to international tax topics and foreign source income is preferred, along with familiarity with Canadian tax requirements
- Comfortable working with MS Office Suite and tax/compliance tools; experience with CorpTax and SAP is preferred. You bring a detail-oriented, structured working style and strong communication skills, enabling you to explain tax impacts clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
