Reporting into the Head of Engineering, as a Data Engineer Team Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and maintenance of OKRA's data infrastructure, including our data lake and data pipelines. 

Combining strong leadership skills and technical expertise, you will lead a team of talented Data Engineers, collaborating cross functionally to work closely with the platform and data science teams to deliver valuable AI solutions to our clients.  

This is a hybrid working opportunity from our Leiden office.   

Role responsibilities 

How will you make an impact at Envision Pharma Group? 

• Lead a team of Data Engineers, managing them on a day-to-day basis and supporting their future development.  
• Actively contribute to the data governance and data strategy, ensuring best practices are developed and implemented.  
• Collaborate with cross-functional team leads to define data requirements and deliver solutions with a focus on continuous improvement.  
• Lead on the daily development work of data lake and workflows.  

Do you have what we are looking for? 

• Proven experience leading and developing a team.  
• Demonstrable experience in the data engineering field.  
• Strong problem-solving abilities with an emphasis on product development.  
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement efficient and scalable data solutions.  
• Proficiency in modern Python programming, with a preference for Python 3.9 or later.  
• Experience in designing and creating data workflows with systems such as Apache Airflow, Luigi, Kedro and Apache Spark.  
• Understanding of best practices in software development, including software design and testing.  
• Experience with AWS services, (e.g: EC2, S3, Glue). 

Bonus points if you have…  

• Experience in the Pharmaceutical or Life Sciences industry. 
• An affinity for AI solutions and understanding of data science.
