Summary
Elephas, a Madison, WI based biotechnology start-up company, is seeking a highly motivated Data Science Intern to join our team. Applicants should be comfortable in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. The successful candidate will be a motivated student pursuing a career as a Data Scientist who will contribute to developing, optimizing, and validating Elephas' cancer diagnostics platform.

The successful candidate will be a motivated student pursuing a career as a Data Scientist who will contribute to developing, optimizing, and validating Elephas' cancer diagnostics platform.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Extract meaningful information from high dimensional multi-modal datasets
- Assist with data analysis, modeling, visualization, interpretation, presentation and quality control of clinical and basic science data
- Develop and implement algorithms or numerical methods to support quantitative analysis of platform measurement modalities
- Validate and test existing analytical code to improve and harden workflows
- Work collaboratively with immunologists, scientists, data and software engineers
- Experience and interest in oncology, immunology, and cancer research
Education/Experience/Skills
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, Biomedical Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, or related field
- Knowledge of machine learning, data science, data mining, statistics, signal processing, image processing, etc.
- Experience programming in Python is preferred
- Strong background in quantitative analysis and statistics
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
