Overview: A strategic, hands-on leader overseeing financial operations, reporting, and post-acquisition integration within a growing, private-equity-backed professional services organization. This role blends operational rigor with strategic partnership, ensuring scalable processes, accurate financial insights, and alignment with value-creation priorities. The Director of Finance works closely with executive leadership to drive performance, support decision-making, and enable the organization's growth through disciplined financial management and effective integration of acquired businesses.

Pay Philosophy:
CSL Consulting is a pay-for-performance organization, where individual contributions, impact, and results directly influence compensation, recognition, and growth opportunities. The salary range for this position is $175,500 - $195,000 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated impact. CSL Consulting is committed to pay equity and transparency in accordance with Massachusetts law. Compensation is determined within the posted range based on the scope of the role, the candidate's background, and the value they bring to the organization. We reserve the right to adjust our salary bands in response to evolving business needs, market conditions, and organizational priorities.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning
- Build dashboards and KPIs for revenue, utilization, margin, and cash
- Support pricing, scenario modeling, and strategic decision-making
- Prepare monthly board packages and investor reporting
Accounting & Controls
- Oversee month-end close (target: 5-day close)
- Ensure accurate revenue recognition for services
- Manage GL, AP/AR, payroll, and project accounting
- Maintain internal controls and audit readiness
M&A Finance
- Lead financial due diligence and modeling
- Support quality of earnings processes
- Partner with PE deal team on valuation and synergy analysis
- Own Day-1 readiness and 100-day integration plans
- Align chart of accounts, systems, and reporting across acquisitions
Treasury & Cash Management
- Lead cash forecasting and working capital optimization
- Manage banking relationships and debt covenant reporting
- Support capital structure planning
Operational & Project Finance
- Partner with operations to analyze utilization, margin, and backlog
- Support labor planning and capacity modeling
- Drive client and project profitability analysis
Systems & Data
- Own ERP (Deltek required), reporting tools, and data governance
- Lead system integrations for acquisitions
- Automate reporting and streamline workflows
Qualifications
- 8-12+ years of progressive finance experience
- Experience in professional services, consulting within A/E/C industry an advantage
- Strong background with Deltek (Vantagepoint)
- Prior experience in a PE-backed environment strongly preferred
- Demonstrated success supporting M&A due diligence and integration
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to operate strategically while remaining hands-on
