Positions focused on leading, advancing, developing, and applying science, technology, engineering, information technology, and research and development, to anticipate, innovate, and deliver solutions to Laboratory missions. These positions may involve discovery, design, and development of innovative solutions which advance the state of the art. Positions within the Science and Engineering Career Band typically require a university degree and equivalent work experience that provides knowledge of and exposure to fundamental theories, principles and concepts. Researches, designs, develops, analyzes and implements technical projects and systems. Utilizes engineering standards and techniques to improve quality of products and/or procedures.

About the Team

Weapons Production Technology (WPT) is a world leader in tritium fuel cycles with a strong industrial partnership, including most private companies working on fusion research. WPT also leads the Tokomak Exhaust System Development Project for the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor. The staff of 300 in this vibrant organization are leading the frontiers of tritium effects on materials, hydrogen science, fusion related research, plutonium metallurgy, sensing and metrology, advanced engineering, and advanced manufacturing.
