Position Overview

Fusion Innovation is seeking a Front Office Communications Officer to support the development of a newly established directorate. Working closely with the government communications lead and senior stakeholders, this individual will curate, develop, coordinate, and disseminate communications across the organization. The ideal candidate will bring sound judgment, excellent writing skills, and experience supporting senior leaders in a fast-paced government environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with communications leadership to develop and implement directorate-wide communication strategies.
  • Curate, draft, edit, and disseminate communications for internal stakeholder audiences.
  • Prepare leadership messages, announcements, briefings, talking points, articles, and web content.
  • Establish and maintain communication processes, editorial standards, and content calendars.
  • Coordinate with offices and program teams to identify communication needs and gather relevant information.
  • Ensure communications are accurate, timely, consistent, and aligned with leadership priorities.
  • Manage and publish content through WordPress and other internal communication platforms.
  • Advise senior stakeholders on messaging, audience considerations, and communication approaches.
  • Support organizational branding and ensure consistency across communication products.
  • Partner with graphic design personnel to create visually cohesive materials.
  • Manage content review, coordination, and approval workflows.
  • Evaluate communication effectiveness and recommend improvements.

Required Skills

  • Active Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Professional experience providing communications support in a complex organization.
  • Experience supporting senior leadership or a government front office.
  • Demonstrated experience drafting, editing, coordinating, and disseminating executive-level communications.
  • Strong editorial judgment and attention to detail.
  • Ability to translate complex information into clear and concise messaging.
  • Experience coordinating deliverables among multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to operate independently while contributing to a collaborative team.

Desired Skills

  • Experience working in a U.S. Government or Intelligence Community environment.
  • Experience using a WordPress-based content management system.
  • Experience supporting the establishment or growth of a new organization or directorate.
  • Familiarity with communication governance, editorial calendars, and content approval processes.
  • Experience collaborating with graphic designers and visual communication specialists.

Additional Details

Fusion Innovation anticipates the annual base salary for this position will generally range from $100,000 to $215,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to:

  • Years of direct applicable experience with this work and the customer
  • Relevant education, certifications, and training
  • Contract labor category requirements, skill level, contract bill rate, and hours allocation
  • Alignment with the position's responsibilities
  • Additional specialized skills

In addition to base salary, eligible employees may be considered for discretionary bonuses and are eligible for Fusion Innovation's comprehensive benefits package, which includes medical, dental, vision, company-sponsored retirement contributions, paid leave, professional development opportunities, and other employee benefits.
