Summary

The Administrative Intern Aide supports the Texas Children's Cancer and Hematology Center as part of a paid summer internship program designed to provide meaningful exposure to pediatric healthcare administration. This role offers hands-on learning opportunities focused on administrative operations, data analysis, and process improvement while working closely with leadership, staff, trainees, and faculty. The internship is structured to foster professional development for individuals interested in pediatric hematology/oncology or healthcare administration through real-world projects, collaboration, and guided mentorship.

This opportunity is open to individuals who are 17 years of age or older. While we value enthusiasm from students at all stages, we are unable to hire candidates below this age.

Job Duties

  • Gather, compile, and analyze administrative workflows to support the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Assist with data mining and basic data analysis to support operational and strategic initiatives
  • Support writing, editing, and documentation related to administrative projects
  • Participate in SOP development and process improvement activities
  • Assist with project coordination and foundational financial tracking tasks
  • Collaborate with Texas Children's Cancer and Hematology Center leadership, staff, trainees, and faculty to advance strategic goals
  • Attend and participate in regularly scheduled administrative team meetings

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in high school, trade/vocational school or higher education institution.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed a high school, undergraduate, or graduate program
  • Interest in pediatric healthcare, pediatric hematology/oncology, or healthcare administration
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills
  • Ability to write clearly and assist with editing and documentation
  • Interest in data analysis, SOP development, and project management
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a professional administrative environment

Work Authorization Requirement:
