About the Role
Position Summary
The Key Account Manager (KAM) is responsible for driving sales and business development for Global Key Accounts (GKA). This includes developing and executing the Key Account Management (KAM) Plan to ensure strategic alignment, profitable growth, collaboration, relationship development and seamless commercial execution. The role requires strong coordination with global teams mainly based in Europe to ensure boundary spanning and cross-regional consistency, strategic alignment, knowledge sharing, and best practice implementation.

Pay Transparency Disclosure: The expected annual salary range for this position is USD $160000.00 - USD $180000.00. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and company performance.

About the Role
Position Summary
The Key Account Manager (KAM) is responsible for driving sales and business development for Global Key Accounts (GKA). This includes developing and executing the Key Account Management (KAM) Plan to ensure strategic alignment, profitable growth, collaboration, relationship development and seamless commercial execution. The role requires strong coordination with global teams mainly based in Europe to ensure boundary spanning and cross-regional consistency, strategic alignment, knowledge sharing, and best practice implementation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1) KAM Plan Development & Execution
- Develop and execute the Global KAM Plan in line with global, regional &; local business objectives.
- Collaborate with intent to align account strategies with GKA growth priorities.
- Define and implement joint business planning, category management, and account-specific initiatives.
- Use customer insights and competitive analysis to identify market gaps and unlock opportunities for mutual business growth.
- Regularly update and optimize the KAM plan based on market dynamics and business performance.
- Align with cross-functional teams (R&D, Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain) to deliver on KAM objectives.
- Build and enable, via Customer Teams, a multi-level customer engagement platform.
- Understand your customers regional strategy and translate this for Symrise.
- Leverage the Symrise position with our KA (relative to competition).
- Build progressive business models (incl. acquisition targeting) to drive step change with our customer.
- Lead preparing the regional sales budget and deliver the KA's AOP.
- Lead the KA management process with the GKA customer team, from co-creation to execution of a customer strategy, including building and delivering unique value propositions.
- Lead the KA's contribution to the SGP by identifying & prioritizing the growth enablers.
- Promote the KA priorities and engagement within the TOM.
- Build and maintain a sustainable GKA regional relationship strategy.
- Build and enable, via Customer Teams, a multi-level customer engagement platform.
- Follow the global agreed way of working with the customer
2) Strategic Planning & Market Intelligence
- Develop and refine the Regional KAM Plan based on deep market insights and customer strategic objectives.
- Conduct market analysis and competitor benchmarking to stay ahead of industry trends.
- Align with regional leadership on growth priorities and investment decisions.
- Embrace sustainable growth by ensuring business strategies are future-proof and aligned with market evolution.
- Support financial forecasting, budgeting, and performance tracking.
- Co-create with global customer Team, a deliverable KA growth strategy.
3) Customer & Relationship Management
- Care to lead by fostering deep, trust-based partnerships with key customers stakeholders.
- Manage a multi-level engagement strategy with customer regional teams.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all commercial and operational matters.
- Work closely with customer R&D, procurement, marketing, and innovation teams to co-develop winning solutions.
- Ensure high customer satisfaction

About You
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- 5-10 years of experience in sales, account management, or business development, of which at least three must be within flavors and/or food ingredients.
- 5+ years of experience working with alcohol.
- 3+ years of proven experience in Key Account Management (KAM) and strategic planning.
- Prior exposure to global coordination and multi-market business strategies.
- Proven ability to develop, implement, and optimize structured account plans.
- Strong ability to create and sell compelling business proposals.
- Ability to align regional actions with global KAM priorities.
- Strong background in project management and working cross-functionally with experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives.
- Ability to analyze market data, customer insights, and financial metrics.
- Strong interpersonal skills to influence internal and external stakeholders.
- Language Skills - Fluency in English; additional languages (French, Spanish, German) are a plus.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-pressure commercial environment.
- Care to lead by driving both individual and team excellence.
- Embrace sustainable growth by fostering long-term, value-based partnerships.

- Flexibility to collaborate across different time zones, including European and West Coast hours, is vital.
- The role requires up to 50% travel domestically both by land and by air. International travel is expected once or twice per year as well.
