Job Summary:
Laboratory Operations Technician I (Part-Time, 20 hours/week)
As a Laboratory Operations Technician I, you will support daily laboratory operations with a primary focus on laboratory glassware processing. This part-time role ensures the timely cleaning, preparation, and distribution of glassware used across laboratory teams. When time allows, you will provide additional support for SampleCenter activities, including basic sample handling and inventory assistance. This position requires reliability, attention to detail, and effective communication.

Job Summary:
Laboratory Operations Technician I (Part-Time, 20 hours/week)
As a Laboratory Operations Technician I, you will support daily laboratory operations with a primary focus on laboratory glassware processing. This part-time role ensures the timely cleaning, preparation, and distribution of glassware used across laboratory teams. When time allows, you will provide additional support for SampleCenter activities, including basic sample handling and inventory assistance. This position requires reliability, attention to detail, and effective communication.
Job Responsibilities:
- Primary Responsibilities: Laboratory Glassware (Core Function)
- Collect laboratory glassware from designated work areas.
- Operate industrial dishwashers to clean and sanitize laboratory glassware following established procedures.
- Perform manual cleaning when required.
- Ensure proper labeling, loading, and safe handling of all glassware.
- Inspect glassware for cleanliness, damage, or wear before returning it to circulation.
- Restock and return cleaned glassware promptly to assigned laboratory areas.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the glassware processing area.
- Monitor glassware supply levels and notify Laboratory Operations staff when restocking or replenishment is needed.
- Secondary Responsibilities (Performed as time allows): SampleCenter Support
- Assist with receiving samples into the Research and Development (R&D) sample inventory.
- Retrieve or prepare daily sample pull lists under guidance from Laboratory Operations staff.
- Support proper disposal of bulk samples following testing protocols.
- Perform straightforward labeling, packaging, or sample organization tasks.
- Maintain accurate and timely recordkeeping for sample transactions.
- Collaborate with Laboratory Operations team members to ensure smooth daily workflow.
Education & Qualifications:
- Associate Degree.
- Reliability & Dependability: Consistent attendance and punctuality; able to maintain a steady daily workflow with minimal oversight.
- Ability to Follow Procedures: Accurately follows written and verbal instructions, adheres to SOPs, and maintains high standards for cleanliness, labeling, and organization.
- Strong Work Ethic: Self motivated to stay productive, identify the next task, and keep work areas clean and orderly without requiring constant direction.
- Physical Stamina: Capable of lifting or moving glassware, trays, and materials as required for daily operations.
- Effective Communication: Clear and respectful communication with Laboratory Operations staff, particularly when reporting issues, clarifying instructions, or requesting guidance.
