Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Biology or related field
- Familiarity with molecular biology techniques and laboratory procedures
- Ability to accurately handle sensitive biological samples
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Aliquot DNA and biological samples according to established laboratory protocols
- Label and organize samples accurately for storage and shipment
- Prepare and package samples for shipping in compliance with applicable regulations
- Maintain accurate sample inventory - chain-of-custody documentation
- Assist with molecular biology procedures including PCR setup, nucleic acid extraction, and reagent preparation
- Operate and maintain standard laboratory equipment
Responsibilities:
- Perform DNA aliquoting and sample preparation
- Label, organize, track, and store biological specimens
- Prepare samples for shipment, coordinate outgoing and incoming specimens
- Assist with sample receiving, accessioning, and storage management
- Maintain laboratory supplies and assist with ordering materials as needed
- Follow laboratory safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment
- Support general laboratory operations
