The Lundquist Institute for Biomedical Innovation at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center is a leading nonprofit biomedical research organization located in Torrance, California. Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Biology or related field
• Familiarity with molecular biology techniques and laboratory procedures
• Ability to accurately handle sensitive biological samples

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Aliquot DNA and biological samples according to established laboratory protocols
• Label and organize samples accurately for storage and shipment
• Prepare and package samples for shipping in compliance with applicable regulations
• Maintain accurate sample inventory - chain-of-custody documentation
• Assist with molecular biology procedures including PCR setup, nucleic acid extraction, and reagent preparation
• Operate and maintain standard laboratory equipment

Responsibilities:

• Perform DNA aliquoting and sample preparation
• Label, organize, track, and store biological specimens
• Prepare samples for shipment, coordinate outgoing and incoming specimens
• Assist with sample receiving, accessioning, and storage management
• Maintain laboratory supplies and assist with ordering materials as needed
• Follow laboratory safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment
• Support general laboratory operations
