The Director, Life Sciences for North America (Hybrid Germantown, MD) leads the regional execution of the current activities related to Life Sciences: e.g. the Medical Device, Pharma, Clinical, and Training teams spanning across US and Canada - ensuring achievement of financial and business goals aligned with the NSF mission, values, and strategy. The Director Life Sciences NA would be responsible for geographical/divisional expansion of the activities in the region, together with the VP Life Sciences. Life Sciences is a global business unit covering various sectors of the life sciences industry providing new and existing NSF clients delivering expert clinical research, consulting, auditing, and training solutions. This position reports directly to the NSF VP of Life Sciences. This hybrid role will be based out of NSF office in Germantown, Maryland.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Salary Range: $175k- $235k
The total pay range takes into account a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skills; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed pay range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At NSF, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.

From research to patient, NSF's expert team provides comprehensive regulatory, quality and clinical support to pharmaceutical, biotech, medical devices, in-vitro diagnostics, and combination products clients across the product life cycle to navigate complex regulations and industry challenges.

Life Sciences is a global business unit covering various sectors of the life sciences industry providing new and existing NSF clients delivering expert clinical research, consulting, auditing, and training solutions. This position reports directly to the NSF VP of Life Sciences. This hybrid role will be based out of NSF office in Germantown, Maryland.
Responsibilities
- Owns delivery of financial and operational goals, ensuring alignment with customer expectations and NSF's strategy, mission, and values.
- Leads regional execution of Life Sciences strategy, contributing to global strategic development.
- Drives client satisfaction and growth by meeting service KPIs and leveraging client feedback to inform improvements.
- Provides technical oversight of service offerings, ensuring effective delivery across Life Sciences.
- Partners with operations to improve performance, cost efficiency, and KPI achievement; reports regularly on results.
- Manages client relationships to ensure profitable growth, resolve issues, and strengthen long-term partnerships.
- Supports business development through collaboration on sales and marketing initiatives aligned with global strategy.
- Builds a high-performing, accountable team culture through talent development, coaching, and effective recruitment.
- Models NSF values and fosters a positive, engaged, and performance-driven team environment.
- Develops and presents regional budgets, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and delivery of revenue and margin targets.
- Maintains strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to meet current needs and anticipate future demands.
- Ensures compliance with safety, legal, and company policies across all operations.
- Performs additional duties and projects as needed to support business objectives.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, or a related field
- Relevant experience in the medical device, pharmaceutical, or clinical research industry
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in a business leadership or general management role
- Experience developing and implementing strategy
- Demonstrated experiencing leading and driving results in both remote and hybrid work environments.
- Demonstrated experience leading a global program and/or regional operation, including the ability to identify market trends, acquisition targets, and innovative services
- Demonstrated experience in owning/managing P&L including allocating resources and managing expenses to achieve or exceed revenue and profit targets
- Demonstrated ability to build strong customer relationships, understand customer needs and deliver customer-centric solutions aligned with the mission and goals
- Demonstrated ability to build and lead teams, including selecting and developing talent, building trust, coaching team members, and managing performance resulting in high performing teams
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated business acumen, including the ability to build relationships, interpret financial indicators, adopt innovative ideas and apply knowledge of the business to advance organizations goals
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver organizational messages using various communication modes for transparency and clarity of messages with teams in a consistent and timely manner
