The Mammography Lead Technologist will be responsible for reviewing patient order, image per protocol while following Single Flow protocols and LEAN principles. We will accomplish this by assisting daily operations as needed and focusing on IHS's standard for excellent patient care.
What You'll Do
- Performs imaging procedures while upholding IHS patient service quality standards.
- Reviews patient orders, imaging requests, and patient questions.
- Obtains patient histories through electronic records, patient interviews, dictated reports, or communication with referring clinicians.
- Reviews and transmits images and information using PACS systems.
- Evaluates medical information to determine the appropriateness of procedures.
- Establishes and enforces standards for patient and personnel safety.
- Monitors procedures to ensure quality control of images.
- Acts as backup support for other IHS departments as needed.
- Prepares and responds daily to correspondence for unread exams, QA notes, inquiry statuses, etc.
- Reports non-operable equipment and maintenance needs to leadership.
- Participates in technologist peer reviews and performance improvement initiatives.
- Ensures and trains team members on Enterprise Excellence within the Mammography modality.
- Performs Gemba Walks and promotes team communication aligned with Enterprise Excellence.
- Reviews Patient HUB Log Reports bi-weekly.
- Supports the Mammography Training Program, including onboarding and training of new hires and students.
- Provides guidance on quality and standardization for biopsy procedures.
- Conducts periodic site visits.
- Maintains a consistent focus on the company's Balanced Scorecard, ensuring daily work aligns with organizational goals while actively contributing to modality-specific process improvement and standardization initiatives.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED required
- At least five years' experience as a Mammography Technologist
- Current ARRT, CPR, CRT license
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and proficiency with MERGE and PACS systems is a plus.
