Job Summary The Material Handler / Senior Material Handler is responsible for performing various activities within the Supply Chain/Operations Department. The primary function of this role includes coordinating receipt of all inbound material shipments, preparing necessary documentation, maintaining material receipts and transactions in an inventory management system (ERP System), picking/kitting GMP and Non-GMP materials for use in production/development, and coordination/preparation of outbound material shipments.

Job Requirements

Education and Experience

  • HS Diploma or equivalent educational experience required.
  • Three (3) or more years of warehouse/logistics experience in a GMP environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Create, follow, and execute policies and procedures impacting warehouse and inventory activities.
  • A background in Warehouse Operations, including shipping, receiving, delivery, and inventory.
  • Understanding of cGMP, GCP, GDP in and FDA regulated environment.
  • Ability to thrive in a multidisciplinary team environment is essential for success, with a strong ability to build relationships.
  • Ability to manage time for various tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite products and working knowledge of various operational software systems including ERP software.
  • Experience with implementation of an ERP system is a plus.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. required

Job Responsibilities

  • Follow all established site SOPs for receipt, storage, shipment, and destruction/removal of material.
  • Perform various warehousing activities such as unloading / loading of material(s) at loading dock, receive materials into inventory, prepare materials for outbound shipment, coordinate shipments with outbound parcel and freight partners.
  • Ensure materials being received and stored in the GMP Storage locations are labelled appropriately following site SOPs.
  • Perform picking and kitting of GMP raw materials and components for use in Kanban, GMP Production, and Non-GMP development per appropriate SOP's, and GMP documentation.
  • Systematically transfer materials within the company ERP system to capture transfer/consumption of materials.
  • Ensure materials stored in the GMP Storage locations are within expiry and remove expired materials from GMP Storage locations upon material reaching its expiry.
  • Perform physical transfer of materials between receiving, storage, and production areas.
  • Manage non-conforming material in accordance with site SOPs.
  • Oversee inventory management controls including shelf life, lot numbers, lot expiry, and maintain accurate inventory levels.
  • Conduct monthly cycle counts for all GMP material stored in the warehouse.
  • Review ERP records against physical inventory to ensure alignment.
  • Responsible for completing all documentation for each task, rigorously applying Good Documentation Practices (GDP), maintaining a clean and orderly warehouse.
  • Strict adherence to safety and compliance requirements as related to personal protection requirements and safeguard against injury to him/herself and all adjacent personnel.
  • Responsible for general cleanliness of GMP warehouse locations.
  • Completion of all other duties assigned.
