Role Summary
The Pharmacy Software Specialist is responsible for maintaining a working knowledge of pharmacy operations and the pharmacy software systems to assist in the training of pharmacy staff and implementation of the software system. This position will assist the Director of Pharmacy Services and Technology in testing new software developments, providing critical feedback from the field on potential improvements within the system, and assist in launch of new developments. The specialist position must have strong communication skills and collaboration within the pharmacy network to ensure appropriate implementation.

The Pharmacy Software Specialist is responsible for maintaining a working knowledge of pharmacy operations and the pharmacy software systems to assist in the training of pharmacy staff and implementation of the software system. This position will assist the Director of Pharmacy Services and Technology in testing new software developments, providing critical feedback from the field on potential improvements within the system, and assist in launch of new developments. Responsibilities
- Maintain a working knowledge of company operations.
- Assist in the development and testing of the Pharmacy Management System (PMS)
- Assist in the development and maintenance for pharmacy software systems.
- Assess pharmacy hardware needs and direct hardware procurement
- Assist with data collection from pharmacies migrating to the new software ahead of implementation. This could include current hardware, staff information, equipment lists, and more.
- Communicate with staff of each store to guide them through the conversion process.
- Train staff in the usage of the software.
- Assist with project management tools to maintain a timeline for implementation.
- Assist with migration of data and testing of migrated data prior to conversion.
- Lead/direct onsite implementation prior to and/or during first week of initial launch of application and major new development rollouts
- Assist in the development and delivery of training materials and training programs for end-users
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Required: CPhT
- Preferred: Technologically inclined with compounding pharmacy background

Key Performance Metrics
- Meet the deadline established by timelines for go-live of stores.
- Minimal delays in drug delivery when compared to previous system (good training performed)
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds. Moving, lifting, or carrying boxes.
- Ability to stand for extended periods
