Summary

The lab is seeking an experienced researcher to join the Li Laboratory in the Section of Cardiovascular Research, Department of Medicine, with the goal of becoming a staff scientist in the lab. The lab investigates novel molecular mechanisms underlying atrial fibrillation and myopathy, cardiac conduction diseases, and inflammation-related cardiac diseases.

The lab uses a multidisciplinary approach that includes biochemistry, flow cytometry, single-cell transcriptomics, optical mapping, molecular cloning, and advanced phenotyping in transgenic mouse models. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic, collaborative environment at the forefront of cardiovascular research.

Baylor College of Medicine typically follows similar to the NIH stipulated stipend guidelines for Postdoctoral Associates.

Job Duties

• Organizes and implements complex research plans.
• Develops new methods and techniques.
• Conducts experiments, data collection, and analysis.
• Interprets data and write detailed scientific reports.
• Mentors graduate and undergraduate students.
• Presents research findings regularly to peers and at national and international meetings.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
• No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD or MD/PhD degree received within the past 4 years.
• Experience in molecular biology, immunology, or cardiac phenotyping.
• Prior research experience in cardiac electrophysiology or immunological sciences is a plus.
