Position Summary:

The Process Scientist is responsible for collaborating, leading, and executing process
sciences efforts, specifically focused on cell trials to support internal or/and external
projects during the implementation new technology; equipment and process
characterization, generation knowledge or any ABEC key activity related with process
sciences. This role involves conducting experiments, collecting, and analyzing data,
coordinating equipment setup and execution, batch planning and execution, protocol and
report preparation, and customer interaction. Additionally, the Process Scientist will
contribute to activities such as marketing content generation, new product development
support, and sales and services.

Responsibilities:
• Plan and execute internal and external projects to ensure successful process
development, process characterization and scale-up/down execution. Facilitate
effective information flow, risk assessment, timeline execution, issue resolution,
and documentation for cross-functional teams.
• Prepare protocols for trial execution, future experiments, analytical methods, and
validation.
• Generate reports related to trial execution, future experiments, analytical methods,
validation, and market studies.
• Collaborate with managers and cross-functional teams to create product and test
protocols in accordance with ABEC standards and guidelines.
• Design and evaluate product prototypes and develop plans for new products and
technology development.
• Define procedures to evaluate product performance.
• Understand customer and market requirements, collaborating with crossfunctional teams to develop and evaluate new products and solutions, as well as
improve existing ones.
• Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs), records, and guidelines.
• Author scientific publications such as white papers, application notes, posters, and
reviews.
• Train new personnel.
• Develop training materials and work with department leads to implement training.
• Provide general support to other functional groups, such as Project Engineering,
Sales, Marketing, Applications, Product and Manufacturing teams to drive product
revenue and margin growth.
• Evaluate product costs and collaborate with operational departments to reduce
costs and improve gross margins.
• Communicate with professionals at all levels in the field and incorporate their
insights into product improvement.
• Work in a professional team-based office environment, meeting date-driven and
customer-focused commitments.
• Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Execute other assigned tasks.
• Willingness to travel when required.

• Will play an active role in identifying and driving Continuous Improvement (CI) opportunity.

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Life Sciences, or Sciences field (Biological,
Chemical, Physics, or equivalent experience).
• Minimum of 1 year of post-graduate experience in a laboratory.
• Preferred 5 years of post-graduate experience working in biopharmaceuticals or a
related field, with a focus on product development.

• Awareness of and prior experience with implementing Continuous Improvement (CI) a plus.

• Prior Lean/Six Sigma experience a plus.

Desirable:
• Proficiency in aseptic techniques.
• Strong background in animal cell culture and microbial fermentation.
• Familiarity with MO fermentation, animal cell culture, cell banking, seed train, and
applicable analytical methods for process characterization.
• Experience in biosafety cabinet operation.
• Previous involvement in protocol and report preparation.
• Statistical Analysis and Design of Experiments (DoE)

Plus:
• Involvement in writing white papers.
• Technical expertise in upstream manufacturing and/or process development.
• Experience with primary cell culture.
• Experience in technology transfer, process characterization, and process
validation.
