Job Description:

Quality Assurance Specialist - Core Lab

Location: Port Jefferson, NY

Schedule: 5 / 8.5 Hour Shifts; 8:00am - 4:30pm

New York Cancer and Blood Specialists (NYCBS)

In This Role, You Will:
  • Perform quality assurance reviews, audits, and improvements across monthly logs, proficiency testing, and quality control processes
  • Ensure all reports meet company standards for accuracy, format, and professional presentation
  • Identify inconsistencies in test results and quality indicators, and coordinate corrections as needed
  • Develop and manage corrective and preventative action plans following internal and external audits
  • Maintain communication and coordination between laboratory teams
  • Create, update, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Educate staff on updated protocols and ensure compliance
  • Monitor key performance indicators and overall lab quality metrics
  • Support readiness for regulatory inspections including NYS CLEP and CAP
  • Assist with implementation of new tests, instruments, and quality control processes
  • Manage and track proficiency testing samples and results.

We Require:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science preferred.

Experience: Minimum of two years of clinical or related field experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language: Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

Skills: Proficiency in Word, Excel, and overall computer skills.
