The Referral Coordinator/ Scheduler is responsible for managing the intake and referral process for patients, ensuring smooth and efficient coordination of care. This role involves gathering patient information, collecting insurance coverage, obtaining medical records, and intake paperwork in a timely manner.

The Referral Coordinator/ Scheduler is responsible for managing the intake and referral process for patients, ensuring smooth and efficient coordination of care. This role involves gathering patient information, collecting insurance coverage, obtaining medical records, and intake paperwork in a timely manner.
Duties and Responsibilities, including but not limited to:
- Referral Intake: Conduct initial patient intake, collecting necessary information such as medical history, insurance details, and reason for referral.
- Records Management: Create, update, and maintain patient health records, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all referral activities.
- Data Entry: Enter patient information into electronic health records (EHR) systems, including medical history, treatments, and test results.
- Privacy and Security: Protect the confidentiality and security of patient health information, adhering to HIPAA and other regulatory requirements.
- Information Requests: Respond to requests for medical records from healthcare providers, patients, insurance companies, and legal entities, ensuring proper authorization is obtained.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to patients, addressing inquiries and resolving issues related to intake and referrals promptly.
- Patient Scheduling: Contact patients to schedule consultation and follow-up appointments, and assist clinical team with coordinating infusion treatment appointments.
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- At least one year working in a healthcare setting required
- At least one year processing incoming referrals and medical records required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in a related field is preferred
Schedule Details:
- Employment Status: Full time (1.0 FTE)
- Weekly Scheduled Hours: 40
- Hours of work: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Days worked: Monday to Friday
