The primary function of this position is to leverage use of animal models for preclinical translational research, assessment of target and biological pathway modulation, and establishing PK/PD relationship with Denali's therapeutic candidates. The Research Scientist role will be critical in generating preclinical data to support multiple research programs.

Key Accountabilities/Core Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide in vivo technical support that contributes to the timely completion and success of research projects
  • Perform drug dosing by various routes of administration (IV, PO, IP, SC) on a routine basis in mice and rats
  • Perform in life blood collections (submental, tail vein, etc) or terminal blood collection by cardiac puncture
  • Perform necropsy procedures including perfusion of rodents and gross anatomical tissue harvesting
  • Study preparation including tube labeling and sample management following completion of study
  • Stay up to date with respect to relevant new lab techniques and technologies
  • Carefully and thoroughly document all procedures performed and results generated
  • Collaborate with scientists across the organization to enable timely and thorough data generation
  • Responsibilities require work schedule that may include working outside of normal work hours in order to meet business demands such as weekends and holidays to support various in vivo procedures

Qualifications/Skills:
  • Typically 0-2 years of experience with BS degree in related scientific discipline, industry experience preferred
  • Hands-on experience working with both mice and rats is required (handling, various dosing techniques, tissue collection, etc), surgical experience a plus
  • Must have strong work ethic and proficiency in animal welfare and overall knowledge for animal care and use
  • Independent, highly organized, great attention to detail, ability to multi-task across multiple projects, and a strong desire to work in a highly collaborative and fast paced environment

Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $117,000.00 . Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience.
