Position Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Sales Intern to join our team. The intern will support the sales department in executing various strategies to drive business growth and enhance brand visibility. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced and collaborative environment while contributing to key projects.

Essential Functions

• Support the Sales team with administrative, operational, and project-based tasks

• Assist in analyzing sales data, including comparisons of prior fiscal year orders versus current year-to-date performance, to help identify and prioritize target accounts

• Support market share recovery initiatives by helping organize account data, tracking engagement efforts, and documenting outcomes

• Assist sales leadership with validation of key assumptions related to customer performance, reimbursement factors, and service alignment

• Help maintain and update CRM systems and customer databases with accurate account, contact, and activity information

• Support sales efforts by preparing materials, tracking account status, and documenting readiness for distributor transition

• Assist with coordinating the transition of recaptured accounts back to distributor partners once reimbursement, performance, and service expectations are stabilized

• Support new product adoption initiatives by assisting with internal sales materials, account

• tracking, and rollout coordination for expanded offerings launching over the next 6-18 months

• Conduct market and competitive research to support territory, account, and product strategy

• Assist with preparing sales presentations, reports, and internal documentation

• Shadow sales team members to learn sales processes, customer engagement strategies, and account management best practices

• Support coordination of sales meetings, internal initiatives, and occasional events or trade shows

• Collaborate with team members and leadership to complete assigned tasks and special projects

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

• High school diploma or G.E.D. required

• Enrolled in an undergraduate degree program in business or marketing

Experience:

Interest in sales in the Biotechnology industry

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Familiar with Microsoft Excel spreadsheets or similar spreadsheet software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with users at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements

• Primarily sedentary work performed in an office or virtual/remote environment.

• Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer, attending meetings, or completing administrative tasks.

• Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, data entry, and operating standard office equipment (computer, keyboard, mouse, phone).

• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with team members, stakeholders, and external partners through verbal and written communication.

• Occasional standing, walking, and movement within an office or event setting.

• Ability to occasionally lift and carry light materials (up to approximately 15 pounds), such as marketing materials, laptops, or event supplies.

• Visual ability to read, review, and analyze documents, digital content, reports, and marketing materials.

Work Environment

Employees in this role may be exposed to a variety of environmental, activity-related, and ergonomic hazards throughout the workday. Environmental risks include potential spills, weather-related conditions, inadequate ventilation, exposure to extreme heat or cold, poor housekeeping, chemical exposure, and slip, trip, and fall hazards. Activity-related hazards may involve working around burn or heat sources, compressed gases, electrical cords and tools, energized equipment, and possible exposure to contagious diseases or other unforeseen risks. Ergonomic hazards are also present, including lifting, awkward postures, repetitive motions, and prolonged periods of sitting or standing. Specific job tasks such as sitting at a workstation for extended periods can lead to back, shoulder, hand, arm injuries, and eye strain, while prolonged standing may result in strains, sprains, and leg or knee injuries. Walking throughout the building introduces the risk of slips, trips, falls, and strains, particularly if walkways are obstructed or wet. Additionally, cleaning up spills can pose hazards such as slips, trips, strains, and potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens. Overall, employees must remain aware of these hazards to reduce the risk of injury in the workplace.
