We are seeking a Scientist - Custom Development to play a key role in advancing customer-driven microbiological solutions. This role is designed for a hands-on scientific professional who can design and execute bench-level work while adapting existing processes to meet evolving customer needs and deliver high-quality, practical outcomes.

To Be Considered for This Position, Candidates Must Have the Following Qualifications:

Education: Ph.D. in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or a related life science discipline
Experience: 5+ years of relevant industry experience in applied microbiological or molecular research
• Strong hands-on laboratory experience, including experimental design, execution, and data interpretation across microbiological or molecular techniques
• Experience adapting scientific processes to meet specific project or customer requirements
• Experience working in regulated or quality-driven environments supporting biological products
• Demonstrated ability to author technical documentation, laboratory protocols, and scientific reports

What You'll Do

Scientific Execution and Development

• Design and execute bench-scale experiments across multiple concurrent, small-scale projects
• Adapt existing microbiological and molecular processes to meet specific customer requirements
• Apply strong scientific judgment to ensure rigor, quality, and reproducibility in all lab work

Custom Project Delivery

• Manage shifting priorities across a fast-paced, customer-driven pipeline
• Translate customer needs into practical quality control materials and biomaterial solutions
• Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of project outcomes

Collaboration and Cross-Functional Partnership

• Work closely with technicians, associates, and fellow scientists to execute projects effectively
• Partner with cross-functional teams to align scientific work with business and customer goals
• Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Quality, Documentation, and Continuous Improvement

• Document experimental work to support quality systems, reproducibility, and regulatory expectations
• Contribute to process improvements that enhance efficiency and scalability
• Maintain compliance with laboratory safety and quality standards, including BSL-2 practices
