The ideal candidate will lead the planning, design, and execution of sophisticated security programs, ensuring alignment with client objectives, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. This position plays a critical role in shaping system architecture, mentoring junior staff, and driving consistency in design standards and quality across the practice.

This is a full-time position. Typical working hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with flexibility based on project demands.
Travel
Travel, including out-of-area and overnight travel, is expected based on project and client needs.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, much of the work may be done sitting at a desk, using a computer, typing, handling phone calls, filing, and using office equipment such as like printers and copiers. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.

Salary Range
The base annual salary range offered for this position is based on numerous factors, including job-related skills and knowledge, experience, specific location, relevant education and/or training. In addition to the annual salary, we offer a full benefits package.

Key Responsibilities
Design Leadership & Technical Expertise
- Lead the design and development of integrated physical security and low-voltage systems, including access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, communications, and related infrastructure.
- Develop Basis of Design (BOD) narratives, system architectures, device layouts, riser diagrams, and technical specifications (CSI Divisions 27/28).
- Provide technical oversight and QA/QC of design documents to ensure accuracy, constructability, and alignment with codes, standards, and client requirements
- Serve as a subject matter expert for system integration, interoperability, and emerging technologies (e.g., analytics, cloud/hybrid systems, IoT).
- Support design standardization and best practices across projects and client portfolios.
Project Leadership & Delivery
- Manage and lead large, complex, multi-disciplinary projects from concept through construction and commissioning.
- Oversee project scope, schedule, budget, and deliverables while ensuring alignment with client expectations.
- Coordinate with internal teams, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure seamless integration of security systems into broader project designs.
- Lead client meetings, workshops, and presentations, translating technical concepts into clear, actionable insights.
- Provide construction administration support, including submittal reviews, site observations, and commissioning oversight.
Client Advisory & Strategic Consulting
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing guidance on security strategy, risk mitigation, and technology investments.
- Conduct assessments and translate findings into actionable design and implementation plans.
- Align security system design with operational workflows, organizational policies, and long-term client goals.
- Support development of enterprise-level standards and system master planning initiatives.
Business Development & Market Engagement
- Collaborate with business development teams to identify opportunities and support proposal development, including scope, fee, and technical approach.
- Participate in client presentations, interviews, and thought leadership initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to support repeat business and long-term partnerships.
- Contribute to market growth initiatives within targeted sectors such as healthcare, education, and critical infrastructure.
Team Leadership & Mentorship
- Mentor and guide junior consultants and designers, providing technical direction and professional development support.
- Promote consistency in design approach, documentation standards, and project execution across teams.
- Support internal training initiatives and knowledge sharing.

Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, technology, or a related field
- 8-12+ years of experience in security consulting, system design, or low-voltage engineering (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Demonstrated experience leading design efforts for complex, multi-site, or high-profile projects
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry certifications such as CPP, PSP, PMP, or relevant technical credentials
- Strong understanding of codes and standards (NFPA, IBC, NEC, ADA, etc.)
- Experience developing construction documents and specifications
- Proficiency in design and documentation tools such as AutoCAD/Revit and Bluebeam
- Familiarity with enterprise security platforms (e.g., LenelS2, Genetec, Milestone, Software House)
- Experience with integrated systems, analytics, and emerging technologies
