Job Description

Sana Biotechnology is growing, and we are hiring new team members who believe in the potential of engineered cells as medicines, who are passionate about delivering the possible to patients, and who lead with the desire to work on novel ideas.  As a Senior Research Associate, you will report to the Director of Analytical Operations to provide high quality results and data interpretation to Process Development Teams using both manual lab equipment and laboratory automation and software.

What you’ll do

  • Provide routine analytical testing support and data interpretation to Cell Therapy Process Development teams for up to 8 assays
  • Maintain assay performance tracking system and supply of essential reagents and supplies
  • Document daily activities in ELN and LIMS systems
  • Evaluate historical method performance
  • Contribute to Sana’s mission and culture

What we’re looking for

  • Direct experience performing flow cytometry
  • Knowledge of gene- or cell-based therapies
  • Familiarity with lab automation hardware or software
  • Bachelor’s with 4+ years’ experience or MS with 1+ years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience

  • Desire to constantly learn and contribute in a support role
  • Motivated by identifying and improving roadblocks in operations
  • Direct experience with cell-based assays and/or ddPCR

What you should know 

  • This role is a mandatory on-site role with the potential flexibility of 1 work from home day each week
  • This is a lab-based position that requires repetitive pipetting
  • The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $95,000 and $105,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience
