Senior Research Scientist; Cell Biology in Buffalo, NY

We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Senior Research Scientist - Cell-Based Assay Technologies to join our growing scientific team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of cutting-edge assay development and translational biology, applying your expertise in cell biology and related disciplines to design and execute complex assays that support both client programs and internal innovation across oncology, immunotherapy, and neurodegenerative disease areas.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and optimize innovative cell-based assays to evaluate novel therapeutic candidates
  • Leverage high-throughput and high-content imaging platforms to generate multiparametric datasets
  • Drive scientific strategy within a project-driven, matrixed environment, collaborating across disciplines
  • Author research plans, execute complex experimental workflows, and deliver high-quality data packages to clients
  • Lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timelines and scientific objectives are met
  • Mentor, train, and supervise junior scientists, fostering a culture of scientific rigor and continuous learning
  • Contribute to internal assay development initiatives and expansion of Curia's platform capabilities

Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Cell Biology, Pharmacology, Immunology, Neuroscience, or a related field
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex biology-focused projects
  • Experience working in cross-functional, multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly present scientific data to internal and external stakeholders

Preferred
  • Postdoctoral or industry experience
  • Experience managing scientific teams, resources, and project portfolios
  • Strong background in molecular biology techniques, including plasmid design, cloning, and vector construction
  • Experience in cell line engineering, including stable cell line generation and genetic modification approaches
  • Expertise with high-content imaging platforms and advanced image-based assay development
  • Experience in immunology and immune-oncology, including functional immune cell assays
  • Familiarity with mechanistic assay development for biologics, antibodies, or cell-based therapeutics

Other Qualifications
  • Must pass a background check
  • Must pass a drug screen
  • May be required to pass Occupational Health Screening

Pay Range: $79,000/yr.

Education, experience, location and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
