Job Description
Are you ready to make a meaningful impact in breast cancer treatment? As a Scientific Director, Medical Affairs, you’ll be a key expert supporting the Medical Affairs team, driving scientific education, and shaping the strategy for RLY-2608, the company’s lead asset in breast cancer. This role offers a unique opportunity to build and influence our medical affairs strategy. You’ll bring leadership, collaboration, and a hands-on approach to help establish a strong scientific foundation within the company.
Your Role:
- Develop and maintain scientific resources to support impactful medical education and MSL engagements.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, keeping the team up to date on treatment landscapes, competitive intelligence, and evolving science.
- Lead internal training to ensure the Medical Affairs team is well-versed in the product, disease area, and latest research.
- Drive digital medical education initiatives, working with vendors to execute aligned strategies.
- Shape the scientific narrative, collaborating cross-functionally to develop messaging on disease state, MOA, and molecular diagnostics.
- Represent Medical Affairs in cross-functional teams, providing strategic and operational insights.
- Lead insight collection initiatives, ensuring external perspectives help guide internal strategy.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and ethical guidelines in all scientific interactions.
- Mentor and help build a high-performing Medical Affairs team to support the organization’s evolving needs.
- Travel up to 25% for congresses, HCP meetings, and internal collaborations.
Your Background:
- Advanced degree preferred (PharmD, PhD, MD), though experienced professionals with MSc, NP, PA, or RPh backgrounds will be considered.
- 5+ years in biotech/pharma, with solid tumor oncology (breast cancer preferred) experience.
- Strong expertise in clinical research, medical strategy, and evidence generation.
- Deep understanding of oncology treatment guidelines, regulatory frameworks, and scientific exchange best practices.
- Excellent communication skills—comfortable engaging KOLs, HCPs, researchers, and internal stakeholders.
- Proven ability to lead projects, collaborate cross-functionally, and drive results.
- Passion for innovation in Medical Affairs and the ability to anticipate trends that shape future strategy.
- Willingness to be hands-on and adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced biotech environment.
