Job Description
The Sr. Manager, Data Analytics, North America will be responsible for managing critical activities to support a data-driven culture within BioCryst by developing and applying analytical methodologies that deepen insights and inform commercial business decisions. The Sr. Manager, Data Analytics, North America will be a key member of teams responsible for the commercial success of ORLADEYO prescribed for the treatment of hereditary angioedema, in addition to future product launches in the BioCryst rare disease pipeline. #LI-Remote
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Partner with Advanced Analytics, Market Insights and Data Operations to integrate data, analytical methods, and insights across the organization to help inform strategic choices and measure performance.
• Lead the implementation and execution of commercial sales incentive plans to drive sales performance and to ensure alignment to strategic goals and forecast expectations for U.S. and Canada.
• Utilize database queries (SQL) and predictive analytics (Python) in order to synthesize data and conduct analysis across key functions (sales, marketing, market access, patient services, medical affairs) to identify patterns, trends, root causes, opportunities, and threats.
• Partner with Advanced Analytics on integration of multiple data sets into one combined data environment to develop, monitor, and maintain business analytics tools and reports that inform key stakeholders on brand performance, sales results, and sales projections.
• Present insights to key stakeholders within BioCryst Leadership (Finance and Commercial) and commercial functions (sales, marketing, market access, patient services) on results from monthly and quarterly business analysis.
• Partner with Marketing on synthesis of data from various initiatives (e.g., speaker programs, sampling, direct to patient marketing, personal and non-personal HCP marketing), and provide insights and recommendations to supports the overall brand strategy.
• Manage and monitor access, and updates to commercial reports, dashboards, and metrics that enhance strategic and tactical business decision-making.
• Partner with Advanced Analytics to establish and monitor KPIs to inform decision making with cross-functional partners: sales, marketing, patient services, training, and finance.
• Partner with Data Operations to develop data structure and processes to efficiently contribute to the execution of effective data mining, data exploration, modeling, model deployment, and model assessment.
• Leverage analytical models and tools including data discovery solutions, data visualization tools, statistical techniques, predictive modeling, and dashboarding tools to provide insights and recommendations.
• Partner with Data Operations to ensure one comprehensive and accurate ‘source of truth’ for all data sets used by the commercial organization (e.g. territory alignment, zip to territory, access lists).
• Partner with Global Data Operations to continually refine commercial data and system needs and helps to drive program execution to implementation and results delivery to the internal stakeholders.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of data and deliverables.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field; Master’s degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• 6+ years of experience in the biotech, pharmaceutical, or related industry, with experience in analytics-based roles, forecasting, sales operations
• Experience and proficiency in using Excel in conjunction with SQL, Python, and/or other programming languages to develop business and sales analytics models and conduct rigorous quantitative analyses within the data warehouse (SQL based) and other data environments (SQL and Python preferred)
• A proven track record of helping to translate the analytical output into real business impact while taking a creative approach to problem solving
• Rare disease experience is a plus
• Experience with 3rd party pharmaceutical data, claims data and managed care data is a plus
• Experience managing projects and vendors
• Experience working with marketing and sales teams on data analytics
• Ability to work collaboratively and handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to quickly develop ad hoc analyses requested by leadership teams
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to develop and deliver compelling presentations to senior leadership
• CRM (e.g., Veeva) and Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Power Bi) experience is required.
