Position Overview


Fusion Innovation seeks a Strategic Communications Specialist to provide high-level communications support within a dynamic mission-focused environment. This position will support a Mission Center's communications strategy and execution, helping to develop, coordinate, and deliver impactful messaging products for internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team of communications, engagement, and data visualization professionals to advance organizational objectives and enhance stakeholder awareness.

This role requires experience supporting senior leadership and front office-level communications activities within the U.S. Government (USG) environment. The position includes occasional travel to support off-site events, engagements, and mission-related activities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic communications plans, campaigns, and initiatives aligned with organizational priorities and mission objectives.
  • Draft, edit, and coordinate a variety of communication products, including executive correspondence, talking points, briefing materials, presentations, newsletters, articles, and leadership messaging.
  • Provide communications support to senior leadership and front office personnel, ensuring messaging is clear, consistent, and aligned with organizational goals.
  • Coordinate and support internal and external events, meetings, workshops, and engagements, including occasional travel to off-site locations.
  • Collaborate with communications, outreach, and data visualization teams to create compelling and informative content products.
  • Manage and maintain digital communications content across internal platforms and content management systems.
  • Ensure communication products adhere to organizational standards, branding guidelines, and security requirements.
  • Track communication efforts and recommend improvements to increase stakeholder engagement and effectiveness.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts to gather information and develop communication materials that support mission priorities.

Required Skills

  • Active Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph.
  • Experience providing strategic communications support within a U.S. Government environment.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting senior leaders or front office-level communications activities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences.
  • Experience developing executive-level communication products, presentations, and briefing materials.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.

Desired Skills

  • Experience supporting Intelligence Community customers or mission centers.
  • Familiarity with WordPress-based content management systems.
  • Experience planning and supporting events, outreach activities, and stakeholder engagements.
  • Experience working alongside data visualization, graphic design, or multimedia communications teams.
  • Knowledge of strategic communications best practices, messaging development, and audience engagement strategies.
