The Learning Systems Administrator, Lead is responsible for the administration, maintenance, and enhancement of systems that support the University's teaching and learning environment. This role serves as a lead technical resource for the Digital Learning Environments team, managing system operations, resolving complex issues, and leading projects related to system implementations, integrations, and upgrades.
The position emphasizes enterprise system administration and project leadership. While supporting accessibility efforts through documentation and vendor coordination, the role has limited direct faculty-facing accessibility support responsibilities.

Qualifications:
Minimum Hiring Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and three years of related experience, or a combination of education and related experience.
Preferred Hiring Qualifications:
• Master's degree in a related field
• Experience with learning management systems such as Brightspace D2L, Canvas LMS or Blackboard Learn
• Knowledge of accessibility standards such as WCAG
• Experience with system integrations, APIs, and data exchange
• Familiarity with project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall)
• Experience in a higher education environment
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
• Advanced knowledge of system administration and learning technologies
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead cross-functional initiatives
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts
Salary offers will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications in relation to the Minimum Hiring Standards. Candidates earlier in their careers are typically offered salaries closer to the minimum of the hiring range, while those with more advanced or relevant experience may be considered for compensation at or above the hiring range.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO
System Administration & Support
- Manage daily operations, configuration, and performance of learning systems
- Lead resolution of complex and enterprise-wide system issues
- Utilize incident management tools to track and resolve system and user issues
- Coordinate with technical teams and vendors on system fixes, updates, and security
- Ensure adherence to change management practices and communicate system updates
- Develop and maintain system documentation and user resources
- Project Management
- Lead projects for system implementations, integrations, and upgrades
- Develop project plans, timelines, and resource coordination
- Monitor progress and provide status updates to leadership
- Design and execute system and user acceptance testing
- Leadership & Team Support
- Serve as a lead resource for learning systems initiatives
- Provide guidance and training to team members
- Advise leadership on system policies, procedures, and best practices
- Represent the department on committees, working groups, and system-wide initiatives
- Accessibility & Vendor Collaboration
- Support accessibility compliance through documentation review and vendor engagement
- Coordinate with vendors to address and resolve accessibility-related issues
- Engagement & Innovation
- Research and recommend emerging learning technologies and trends
- Participate in professional development, conferences, and University System of Georgia initiatives
- Share insights and recommendations with leadership and stakeholders
