The Technology Partnerships Office (TPO) at Savannah River National Laboratory is looking for a driven, curious, and self-directed intern to help move cutting-edge energy technologies out of the lab and into the market.
This is not a passive research role. You will be on the front lines of commercialization - working directly with new technologies, identifying companies that could use them, and initiating real conversations with potential partners.
If you're interested in the intersection of technology, business, and AI-enabled workflows, this role is designed to give you hands-on experience doing all three.

Responsibilities
What You'll Actually Do
- Take a portfolio of SRNL patented technologies and use an in-house AI tool to figure out who in industry should care-and why
- Identify companies, reach out, and serve as the first point of contact for potential partners
- Use an in-house AI tool to rapidly generate clear, compelling tech briefs and market insights
- Help design and run targeted outreach campaigns using Salesforce
- Work alongside commercialization leaders to shape go-to-market strategies for selected technologies
- Build repeatable workflows that combine AI + market data + CRM tools into a scalable engagement engine
What Success Looks Like
By the end of the summer, you will have:
- Built and executed a structured outreach campaign
- Created a set of polished, AI-assisted technology briefs
- Developed a working pipeline of industry contacts and engagements
- Helped define how AI can be integrated into real-world commercialization processes
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Undergraduate or graduate student (business, engineering, science, or similar)
- Comfortable operating in both technical and business conversations
- Self-starter who can take direction and run with it
- Interest in partner engagement, commercialization, or business development
- Familiarity with AI tools and curiosity about building workflows with them
- Strong communication skills-you'll be reaching out to real companies
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Salesforce or CRM tools
- Background in energy, manufacturing, or applied science
- Any exposure to sales, outreach, or customer-facing roles
