Job Summary: The Telemedicine Prescriber will deliver patient care through remote consultations, assisting in patient evaluations, health screenings, and managing treatment plans. The role supports the clinic's Medical Director by overseeing patient intake, discharge, and administrative procedures, while maintaining effective communication with the on-site nursing staff, counselors, and Program Directors.

Education/Licensure/Certification: Has and maintains an active license as Medical Doctor, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant in the state where the clinics are located. Ability to be licensed in multi states. Has and maintains an active DEA license with the ability to order schedule II and III narcotics and meet states board requirements.
Required Knowledge: Must meet any state requirements related to experience, Must be computer literate with a working knowledge of common business software such as Microsoft Office suite and/or, Google Suite.
Preferred Knowledge: 1 year of EMR experience
Experience Required: One year of experience working in an outpatient clinic or medical office. Experience working with Substance Abuse/ Opioid Use Disorder is preferred.
Skill and Ability: Must possess excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills, be able to multitask, prioritize, and be dependable, reliable, and flexible. Able to work as part of a team and work independently and without supervision.

The role supports the clinic's Medical Director by overseeing patient intake, discharge, and administrative procedures, while maintaining effective communication with the on-site nursing staff, counselors, and Program Directors.
Essential Functions:
- Conduct remote tele-examinations for all patients upon admission, including quarterly physical examinations and health assessments, when appropriate and available at admission review admissions-related laboratory results with patients
- Provide services across multiple states including, but not limited to; Georgia, Utah, South Carolina, Maryland, Indiana, North Carolina, Virginia
- Ensure all remote examinations comply with the applicable rules and regulations for medically-monitored treatment programs/facilities in the state where the clinic operates.
- Issue and manage patient medication change orders and verbal orders as per state rules and regulations.
- Review and approve physical examinations for patient readmissions and quarterly check-ups.
- Be available for emergency management consultations with on-site staff regarding patient care.
- Recommend patients to primary care providers for conditions unrelated to narcotic addiction.
- Supervise and provide clinical guidance to on-site nursing staff regarding changes in medication dosages through verbal or written orders.
- Participate in virtual treatment team meetings with counselors, assist in developing patient care plans, and be available for patient consults as needed.
- Review patient medical histories, make diagnoses, and decide on follow-up referrals.
- When appropriate, order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as blood work, in accordance with Federal and State guidelines related to OTP treatment.
- Exercise professional judgment and consult with supervising physicians concerning appropriate treatment options when applicable.
- Prescribe medications in accordance with state guidelines and clinic regulations.
- Provide general education to patients regarding health matters related to their OTP care.
- Prepare and submit reports as requested including review of medical charts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
