Summary

Elephas is a Madison, WI based biotechnology start-up company working to build an instrument and assay platform that will inform how clinicians treat cancer patients around the world. We are seeking an Imaging Intern to who is looking to join a group of motivated people driven to providing hope to cancer patients globally.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for science and a commitment to team success and pursuing a degree in biology or a related field. This is a great opportunity to gain practical, hands-on experience in growing a company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Help design and implement experiments supporting translational development goals
  • Identify and innovate solutions to complex problems
  • Handle live biological specimens safely and free from contamination in tissue culture
  • Process live and fixed biological specimens
  • Support development and validation of novel processes and assays
  • Improve processes through application of observations, scientific knowledge, and experience while in compliance with change control procedures
  • Participate in data analysis and support of data conglomeration
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment
  • Adhere to all safety protocols
  • Keep accurate and timely records in electronic laboratory notebooks
  • Perform operations to meet quality expectations throughout the process

Education/Experience/Skills
  • Currently working towards finishing a Bachelor's degree in biology, immunology, molecular biology, developmental biology, bioengineering, biophysics, or a related life sciences discipline
  • Experience in safe tissue handling methods
  • Self-starter, able to work independently and take initiative
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Familiarity with laboratory instruments and production equipment
