Triage - Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Bohemia, NY
Hours/Days: 5/8.5 hour days, Mon-Fri 7:30a-6:30p
Organization :New York Cancer And Blood Specialists (NYCBS)
In this role, you will:
- Perform thorough telephonic symptom assessment for patients practice- wide
• Utilize evidence-based triage protocols to determine appropriate level of care and urgency while
providing clinical decision-making within scope of practice.
• Deliver patient education regarding symptom management, treatment side effects, medication
guidance and support.
• Coordinate care with physicians, APPs, and ancillary staff as needed.
• Maintain detailed and accurate documentation, utilizing appropriate focused assessment
documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
• Maintain strict adherence to clinical protocols, safety standards, HIPPA regulations, and practice
policies.
• Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining professionalism, empathy, and efficiency in
high-volume call environments.
• Support continuity of care by proactively identifying patient needs and potential barriers to treatment
adherence.
• Assumes additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the management team, consistent with
organizational needs and departmental objectives.
We require:
- Valid New York State RN License
- Excellent assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with an EMR (preferred)
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

- Salary starting at $48 per hour based on experience
