Utilities Control Room Operator

Location: North Chicago, ILONSITE
Contract: 12+ months
Shift: 3rd Shift7:00 PM - 7:00 AM12-hour shifts
Employment Type: Contract through Automated Systems, Inc. (ASI), with potential for contract-to-hire by the client

Automated Systems, Inc. (ASI) is seeking a Utilities Control Room Operator for a 12+ month contract opportunity supporting a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in North Chicago, IL.

In this role, you will monitor and operate critical plant utility systems that support pharmaceutical manufacturing operations. Working from the Utilities Control Room and under general supervision, you will monitor system performance, respond to alarms and abnormal conditions, assist with troubleshooting, and coordinate with Maintenance and other site personnel to help ensure reliable and compliant utility operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate critical plant utility systemsthrough control room interfaces and building/utility monitoring systems.
• Monitor utility equipment and systems for properoperation, performance trends, alarms, and abnormal conditions.
• Monitor and support critical utilities including watersystems, steam, compressed air, liquid nitrogen, electrical power, HVAC,and other facility utility systems.
• Respond to equipment alarms and operationalissues, perform initial troubleshooting, and escalate issues asappropriate.
• Partner with Maintenance, Engineering, Facilities,and other site teams to troubleshoot utility system issues and supporttimely resolution.
• Operate and participate in the startup, shutdown,isolation, and maintenance of utility equipment and systems in accordancewith established procedures.
• Perform routine system checks, inspections,readings, and operational verifications to identify potential issues andmaintain system reliability.
• Conduct required quality and operational checksand document results accurately.
• Maintain accurate and timely control room logs,operating records, checklists, and other required documentation.
• Follow established SOPs, safety procedures,operating procedures, and site requirements when monitoring and operatingutility systems.
• Communicate system status, equipment conditions,alarms, and operational issues to appropriate site personnel.
• Support planned and unplanned maintenanceactivities by providing operational information and coordinating systemstatus with Maintenance personnel.
• Maintain a strong focus on safe work practices andreliable operation of systems supporting pharmaceutical manufacturingenvironment.

Requirements

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience in manufacturing,production, industrial, facilities, utilities, or plant operationsenvironment preferred.
• Experience monitoring or operating industrialequipment, utility systems, control systems, or building managementsystems, a plus.
• Ability to monitor multiple systems simultaneouslyand recognize alarms, abnormal conditions, and equipment performanceissues.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshootingskills.
• Ability to follow detailed procedures andaccurately complete required documentation.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills with theability to work effectively with Maintenance, Engineering, Facilities, andother site personnel.
• Military experience or technical military trainingis a plus.
• Experience working in a GMP/pharmaceuticalmanufacturing environment is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work onsite on a 3rd-shift, 12-hourschedule (7:00 PM-7:00 AM), including weekends and holidays as required bythe operating schedule.
