With over 20 years in time-critical clinical trial and direct-to-patient logistics, Xtalks Featured Community Member Lina Kačiulis, MBA, CMILT, CMgr MCMI, has built a career focused on ensuring that life-saving therapies reach patients safely and efficiently. Read how her transition into regulatory leadership reflects a broader vision where operational precision, innovation and human talent drive the future of life sciences.
What Are Your Proudest Life Science Achievements?
My proudest life science achievements include building a 20+ year career in time-critical, life-saving logistics as a Clinical Trial and Direct-to-Patient Specialist after relocating to the UK from Lithuania in 2001. I am also proud to be pivoting into a new leadership role as Head of Regulatory Affairs starting in March 2026. Throughout my career, I have taken great pride in building high-performing life sciences logistics teams and mentoring future industry leaders.
What Are Your Day-to-Day Job Highlights?
I have 20+ years in patient-centric logistics — and I still wake up every day driven by one powerful thought: there’s a life in every box we ship.
From healthcare shipping lanes to the heartbeat of customer operations, I’ve spent two decades blending logistics precision with human impact.
Along the way, I’ve built high-performing teams, developed future leaders and never stopped learning — because in this industry, growth isn’t optional. Patients’ lives depend on it.
My career isn’t just about moving shipments.
It’s about moving healthcare forward while humanising it daily.
If it touches the patient, I care about it — deeply.
If it impacts my team — I’ll move mountains to improve it.
What Are Your Favorite Life Science Innovations?
My favourite life science innovations include:
- Agentic AI: AI systems that not only analyse data but also independently design and refine experiments, significantly shortening drug discovery timelines.
- Next-gen cell therapies: Expansion of “off-the-shelf” CAR-T therapies and, for example, 3D-printed, insulin-producing pancreatic cells for diabetes treatment.
- Cell-free biomanufacturing: Technologies enabling on-demand production of proteins and faster, point-of-care diagnostics.
What Is Your Vision for the Future of the Industry?
As we stand in one of the most extraordinary periods in human history — shaped by AI, cell and gene therapies, and other groundbreaking innovations — we must remember that human talent, vision and ingenuity remain the most invaluable forces driving progress and uplifting humanity.
