Job Description
The professional scientific staffing services role is a position within the supplier’s organization under which lab work is conducted at a Client facility. Work is assigned by a supervisor from the supplier company, but is executed within Client labs using Client instrumentation and supplies. Technical feedback and final review of data are the responsibilities of Client personnel, but all performance feedback and day-to-day supervision will be provided by the supplier supervisor.
Specific duties for the role include (1) the support of development and qualification of methods overseen by a Client scientist, and (2) the execution of a limited number of techniques for the analysis of routine samples. Techniques within scope are chromatography (LC and GC), USP dissolution (apparatus I and II), particle size distribution and compendial methods. Responsibilities also include basic lab organization and maintenance, as well as excellent documentation skills.
- Execute testing of assigned analysis type (specific test methods) for routine sample submissions
- Support development and qualification of new methodsE
- Identify and help to resolve equipment and basic test method issues
- Develop expertise to serve as a backup executor of a limited number of other analysis types (other test methods)
- Provide feedback to Client scientists on the performance of existing assays / test methods
Qualifications
- Master's degree in relevant scientific field
- Prior knowledge and experience with operating, troubleshooting, and optimizing LC, HPLC/UPLC, GC, dissolution by USP apparatus I and II, and particle size distribution instrumentation.
- Dissolution Testing experience is also required for this role
- Other techniques of interest would be MS, NMR and IR spectroscopy.
