The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth Houston), a leading academic health center - McGovern Medical School, Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition is seeking two (2) Assistant/Associate Professors of Medicine to work at the Harris Health System, serving both LBJ Hospital, community clinics and outpatient endoscopy centers. Through its conveniently located community health centers and school-based clinics, Harris Health System provides more than 900,000 primary care doctor visits each year. Today, it is the largest public primary care health network in the state of Texas. With a fully integrated electronic medical record, Harris Health provides residents with a medical home in their neighborhood and coordinated access to higher levels of care when needed.

Position Key Accountabilities:

• These faculty members will serve as gastroenterologists in the Harris Health System.
• Patient care responsibilities will be shared between outpatient clinic activity at the Harris Health Community Clinics, as well as inpatient/outpatient procedures and inpatient consults at LBJ Hospital.
• They will be responsible for the continuity of a high level of clinical quality and efficiency for our gastroenterology outpatient service line with Harris Health.
• There will be an opportunity to focus on the development of an academic career through education and research.

Qualifications:

Candidates must have an MD/DO, be board certified or eligible in gastroenterology, and be eligible for full medical licensure in Texas.
