Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Associate Director of Toxicology (CONTRACT) to join our team, with a focus on the safety evaluation of RNA-based therapies. The successful candidate will lead early screening and pharm/tox studies, ensuring the advancement of novel RNA therapeutics through early discovery. This individual will be critical for managing and interpreting nonclinical studies and working closely with cross-functional teams to drive program success.

The expected salary range for this position is $78/hr - $100/hr.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and execution of nonclinical screening and pharm/tox studies to identify new RNA-LNP drug candidates.
- Analyze and interpret study data and provide insights to guide project decisions.
- Manage relationships with external contract research organizations (CROs) conducting studies, ensuring study integrity and alignment with program goals.
- Collaborate closely with internal discovery, pharmacology, bioanalysis and molecular pathology teams to align on study deliverables and overall program objectives.
- Conduct site visits to CROs to assess technical capabilities and ensure studies are executed in strict accordance with protocols
- Act as the first line of contact for study-related issues, assessing their impact on study integrity and escalating as needed
Qualifications:
- BS/MS in life sciences field with at least 7 years of experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.
- Experience working with CROs and managing outsourced studies.
- Experience in the design and interpretation of pharmacology/toxicology studies.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to provide data-driven insights in a cross-functional setting.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced biotech environment.
- Familiarity with the RNA-LNP therapeutics a plus.
