Asst-Office Operations
Shift: Full Time - 40 Hours - Day Shift with 1 Late Evening.
Location: Providence Park Hospital: Novi-47601 Grand River Avenue Novi MI 48374


GENERAL SUMMARY

Provides administrative, clerical, and customer service support to patients, visitors, providers, and staff in a medical setting. Responsible for patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, charge entry, payment collection, and general office support while ensuring accurate and efficient service.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Greets patients and visitors and provides courteous customer service.
  • Checks patients in and out and obtains required documentation.
  • Verifies and enters patient demographic and insurance information.
  • Obtains and verifies insurance authorizations and precertifications.
  • Schedules, confirms, and reschedules patient appointments.
  • Processes medical record release requests and related documentation.
  • Enters, reviews, and submits daily charges for patient services.
  • Collects co-payments and reconciles daily reports and deposits.
  • Provides general administrative and clerical support to the assigned area.
  • Maintains accurate and confidential patient records.
  • Utilizes electronic medical records, scheduling systems, and other computer applications.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalency OR
  • One year of applicable cumulative job-specific experience.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Strong customer service, communication, organizational, and prioritization skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Basic computer and mathematical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced medical office environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively as part of a team.
