About the Position:

The Biochemistry lab team intern would be responsible for developing/establishing a recombinant sarcomeric protein library for use by the discovery department at Edgewise Therapeutics. These proteins will be a valuable tool for all research programs to define the target(s) of interest and biochemical mechanism(s) of action of Edgewise compounds.

Essential Job Duties and Functions:

• Optimize protocols for bacterial expression of several recombinant sarcomeric proteins.
• Optimize chromatographic purification protocols for recombinant sarcomeric proteins, including affinity-, anion- and/or cation-exchange purifications.
• Confirm function of recombinant products through various in vitro assays.
• Read, understand, and comply with all workplace health and safety policies; safe work practices; and company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Required Education, Experience, Skills:

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related field
• Completion of Biochemistry/Molecular Biology or similar lab course
• Wet lab experience, time management

Preferred Education, Experience, Skills:

• Currently enrolled in an Advanced Degree program in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related field
• 1+ years experience in laboratory setting (ie: lab technician, graduate student, etc.)
• Molecular biology techniques, recombinant protein work or protein purification experience

Candidate must be located in Colorado.

Salary range: $20/hour; internship runs for 8-10 weeks
