Job Description
The Custodian I provides custodial and support services for all OMSI facilities, activities, and events. OMSI's Portland campus includes 219,000 square feet of museum space, along with multiple outbuildings totaling over 57,000 square feet. Custodial staff serve to help ensure that OMSI provides a clean, safe, and healthy environment for all guests and staff. This position is on-call scheduled <19 hours per week.

REQUIREMENTS:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Custodial Duties:
- Performs general custodial services, utilizing best practice for safety, efficiency, and environmental concerns;
- Cleans and stocks restrooms on a daily basis, ensuring proper sanitary conditions and good appearance;
- Responsible for waste disposal throughout the OMSI campus, including interior and exterior spaces;
- Supports OMSI departments with general custodial services.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Assists with setup and teardown of OMSI events and assist with office moves;
- Additional responsibilities as assigned by Facilities management.
Knowledge and Skills:

- Custodial Skills:
- Working knowledge with operating and maintaining custodial tools;
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve custodial-related issues;
- Ability to learn and follow safety and protocol regulations.
PREFERENCES:
- Proficient or native fluency in a second language (non-English).

- Prior custodial-related experience.
