Job Description

  • Onboard new accounts: Partner with outside sales representatives to launch new oncology practices, walking office staff through referral processes, documentation requirements, and points of contact so they can start sending referrals with confidence.
  • Support referral processing: Work directly with oncology office staff to collect the paperwork needed to process referrals, including prescriptions, clinical notes, insurance information, and prior authorization documentation, and follow up promptly on anything missing.
  • Partner with operations: Work closely with the operations team to make sure referrals move through the system efficiently, flagging delays, resolving documentation gaps, and keeping offices updated on referral status.
  • Build virtual relationships: Develop strong working relationships with physicians, nurses, and office staff through regular phone, email, and video contact, serving as a reliable and responsive point of contact.
  • Collaborate with outside sales: Coordinate closely with field sales reps across your assigned states to share account insights, align on priorities, and support a consistent customer experience.
  • Maintain CRM records: Log all account activity, communications, and referral updates in the CRM accurately and on time to keep the sales team informed and support reporting.
  • Grow existing business: Identify opportunities to increase referral volume within current accounts, address service issues before they affect the relationship, and share feedback with the sales team.

  • At least 2 years of experience working in oncology, such as in a practice, specialty pharmacy, or oncology-focused sales or support role.
  • Working knowledge of the prior authorization (PA) and referral process, including common payer requirements and documentation.
  • Familiarity with oncology medications, including oral and infused therapies.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities at once.
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote setting and using CRM software, email, and virtual meeting tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a pharmacy technician, especially in a specialty or oncology pharmacy setting.
  • Inside sales or account management experience within oncology.
  • Experience with Salesforce or a similar CRM platform.
