Fortune, in collaboration with Premier, Inc., has unveiled its 2025 list of the 100 Top Hospitals in the United States. This ranking evaluates hospitals based on clinical outcomes, patient experience, operational efficiency and financial health.
You can explore this table to view the top 100 hospitals in the US according to Fortune – Premier Rankings, with 20 in each category: major teaching hospitals, teaching hospitals, large community hospitals, medium community hospitals and small community hospitals.
In this blog, we spotlight five hospitals from each category, showcasing recent, verifiable updates that reflect how these institutions continue to evolve — from service expansions and new specialty programs to facility upgrades and community initiatives.
Major Teaching Hospitals (Top 5)
1. Intermountain Health Medical Center (Murray, Utah)
Serving Utah and surrounding states, Intermountain Health recently announced the introduction of an adolescent intensive outpatient program in Grand Junction, Colorado. This program aims to support teens needing structured behavioral health services outside of inpatient care.
2. Morristown Medical Center (Morristown, New Jersey)
As a cardiovascular care leader in northern New Jersey, Morristown Medical Center’s Gagnon Cardiovascular Institute surpassed 5,000 transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) procedures in May 2024, becoming the first in the state to achieve this milestone.
3. Baylor Scott & White Medical Center (Temple, Texas)
Serving Central Texas, Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Waxahachie was awarded the Magnet with Distinction for nursing excellence from the American Nurses Credentialing Center on February 20, 2025, placing it among the highest-performing Magnet organizations worldwide.
4. HCA Florida Kendall Hospital (Miami, Florida)
Serving Miami-Dade County, HCA Florida Kendall Hospital opened South Dade Emergency early this year, its fourth freestanding emergency room, aimed at enhancing access to 24/7 emergency care in Homestead.
5. St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center (Phoenix, Arizona)
St. Joseph’s Hospital performed Arizona’s first robotic-assisted kidney transplant, using minimally invasive technology through its Norton Thoracic Institute. The procedure reduces recovery time and broadens transplant access across the state.

1. Wesley Medical Center (Wichita, Kansas)
Serving south-central Kansas, Wesley Medical Center was recognized in March with the 2025 Patient Safety Excellence Award by Healthgrades, placing it among the top 5% of hospitals nationwide for patient safety.
2. HCA Florida Aventura Hospital (Aventura, Florida)
Serving northeastern Miami-Dade County, HCA Florida Aventura Hospital announced this month that its Limb Preservation Program had successfully saved over 1,000 limbs through a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach involving advanced vascular procedures.
3. Corpus Christi Medical Center – Doctors Regional (Corpus Christi, Texas)
Serving the Coastal Bend region, Corpus Christi Medical Center opened a new cardiac rehabilitation center on September 3, 2024, providing inpatient and outpatient programs to aid recovery after cardiac events.
4. St. Luke’s Anderson Campus (Easton, Pennsylvania)
Serving Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley region, St. Luke’s Anderson Campus earned an ‘A’ grade for patient safety from The Leapfrog Group in May 2025, reflecting its commitment to high safety standards.
5. MountainView Hospital (Las Vegas, Nevada)
Serving the Las Vegas area, MountainView Hospital performed its first TriClip procedure on March 17, 2025, a minimally invasive treatment used to repair a leaky tricuspid valve in patients with tricuspid regurgitation.

3. Intermountain Health McKay-Dee Hospital (Ogden, Utah)
Serving northern Utah, McKay-Dee Hospital was named to Premier Inc.’s list of the 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals in February, and was ranked No. 1 among teaching hospitals without a cardiovascular residency program.
4. Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital (The Woodlands, Texas)
Serving Montgomery County and North Houston, Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital opened a new state-of-the-art Comprehensive Care Center in Creekside Park early last month, expanding access to primary care, specialty services and wellness programs in the region.
5. Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital (Houston, Texas)
Serving northwest Houston, Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital was ranked No. 2 in the large, specialized complex care medical center cohort by Vizient in its 2024 Quality and Accountability Study.

1. Saint Francis Hospital (South Tulsa, Oklahoma)
Serving the Tulsa community, Saint Francis Hospital has been focusing on enhancing recruitment and investing in technology under the leadership of its new president, Valerie Powell-Stafford.
2. UCHealth Poudre Valley Hospital (Fort Collins, Colorado)
Located in Fort Collins, UCHealth Poudre Valley Hospital actively participates in Project SEARCH, providing internships for students with developmental disabilities to learn key skills through hands-on experience.
3. Cleveland Clinic Avon Hospital (Avon, Ohio)

Celebrating a decade of service, Houston Methodist Clear Lake Hospital marked its 10-year anniversary last May, reporting over 715,000 patient encounters and a service expansion to 45 specialties, including cardiology, orthopedics and cancer care.
5. Medical City Denton (Denton, Texas)
Medical City Denton has been recognized for its excellence in specialty care, being among the 11 Medical City Healthcare hospitals honored in the Healthgrades 2025 America’s Best Specialty Excellence Awards.
Small Community Hospitals (Top 5)
1. Intermountain Health Layton Hospital (Layton, Utah)
Part of northern Utah’s growing Intermountain network, Intermountain opened a Chronic Pain Medicine Clinic adjacent to its Layton campus in 2024, offering fluoroscopy-guided spinal injections and access to physical therapy and behavioral health specialists.
2. Lakeview Hospital (Bountiful, Utah)
As part of HCA Healthcare’s Mountain Division, Lakeview Hospital was among six facilities recognized with the American Heart Association’s Get With the Guidelines Stroke Gold Plus award in November 2024, for the hospital’s consistent adherence to the latest research-driven guidelines and measurements for stroke care.
3. Intermountain Health Riverton Hospital (Riverton, Utah)
In April 2025, Intermountain Health Riverton Hospital introduced an innovative tool to assist allergists and patients. The hospital became a certified pollen counting station in collaboration with the National Allergy Bureau, enabling it to report accurate daily pollen counts and specific pollens that are high for the day.
4. Medical City Alliance (Fort Worth, Texas)
Celebrating its 10 years in March 2025, Medical City Alliance has grown from a freestanding emergency room to a full-service hospital with over 140 beds. The hospital has continually expanded its services, footprint and specialists to meet the evolving needs of the community.
5. Intermountain Health American Fork Hospital (American Fork, Utah)
In December 2023, Intermountain Health’s American Fork Hospital was among 17 of its hospitals recognized by US News & World Report as high-performing for maternity care in 2024.
