Thomas Kuckelkorn, Head of Product Development Microfluidics, SCHOTT MINIFAB Jena

Thomas Kuckelkorn is an experienced leader in product development and technology management, currently serving as the Head of Product Development for Microfluidics at SCHOTT MINIFAB Jena since March 2021. He has a robust background in managing production and development processes within the diagnostics sector, evidenced by his prior role as Director of Production & Technology Diagnostics at SCHOTT Technical Glass Solutions GmbH. His expertise spans more than 15 years in various management positions, focusing on innovation management, process optimization and project management.

Thomas holds a PhD in Engineering from the Technical University of Munich and has contributed to several standardization workgroups. His technical skills include materials and coatings, cleanroom technology and laser processing. Thomas is proficient in German, English and Spanish, and has received multiple awards for his contributions to research and development.

Dietmar Knoll joined SCHOTT in 2003 as a researcher in the Development Team of the NEXTERION® Product Group. Prior to that, he worked for a start-up company in Jena that focused on the development of novel approaches to diagnostic test systems. Within the SCHOTT NEXTERION® Product Group, Dietmar held various managing positions in Development and Production and has current responsibilities for all activities related to functional coatings as Head of Coating Technology. Dietmar originally trained as a Chemist, with a PhD in Organic Synthesis from Leipzig University.
