Simplifying the Complexity of Scientific Informatics for R&D through Partnerships

Increasing complexities in scientific informatics, and the sheer number of data formats and technologies, can obstruct or diminish the value delivered to scientists from the available data. Creating a connected IT ecosystem, all while moving towards FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable) Data Principles, alleviates those challenges. By integrating with partners such as Scitara™, LabVoice and SciBite, IDBS is creating solutions for our customers to:

  • Disentangle and automate lab dataflow for insights and analysis
  • Increase safety, efficiency and accuracy with voice-enabled Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN) interactions
  • Drive towards insights through semantic enrichment of the data

It can be difficult for in-house teams to keep up with all the transformations, maintenance and business requirements needed to synchronize data between systems. IDBS’s partnership with Scitara utilizes the Scitara Digital Lab Exchange DLX™ technology to funnel data from equipment, ranging from simple balances to automation devices, and make this accessible in our spreadsheet and workbook technologies. Scientists can accelerate decisions with lab workflow data from multiple systems at their fingertips.

LabVoice enables users to interact with their IDBS E-WorkBook experiments in a hands-free fashion while in the lab, for instance during in vivo workflows where operating a computer or device while handling animals is difficult.

Often there just isn’t enough context within a scientific body of work to connect information across systems. IDBS is working to improve search and insights with semantic enrichment powered by SciBite. By managing ontologies and using them to annotate E-WorkBook experiments, we can help scientists to find new perspectives that they may otherwise miss.
