Dunkin’ and Bark Bringing Joy to Children

Dunkin’ and Bark Bringing Joy to Children

Dunkin’ and Bark are collaborating to make plush toys for dogs and proceeds will be donated to The Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation.

Starting next week, Dunkin’ and Bark are collaborating to create a new Dunkin’ inspired plush dog toy being sold in restaurants nationwide. Proceeds are going to the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation.

The Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation and Bark are creating dog toys in the shape of Munchkins donut holes and hot coffee cups. The toys will be available at the beginning of August and will be sold in participating restaurants while supplies last.

For a $12 donation, consumers will receive the squeaky, crinkly, full-of-fluff hot coffee dog toy. For $15, consumers will receive a multipart box of Munchkins donut hole treats dog toy, lined with felt and complete with three plush, squeaky Munchkins donut hole treat toys inside. The toys are bright, durable and good for dogs of all ages and sizes.

Dunkin’ and Bark bring charity toys to market.

“Through our Dogs for Joy program, amazing service dogs like Cooper Dunkin’, have the opportunity to spread joy to children who are battling illness,” said Kari McHugh, executive director of the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation. “These lovable toys will make dogs almost as happy as they make us, while also helping support Foundation programming to bring joy to children facing hunger and illness.”

The funds raised will benefit programs including the Dogs for Joy program, which bring full-time service dogs to children’s hospitals.

Dogs have been known to bring joy, ease anxiety and stress for individuals that are battling illness. The Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation has funded over 15 service dogs across 12 hospitals impacting many young patients.

In addition to the dog toys, dog owners can give back and be more involved by joining Dunkin’ Joy Run, this is a virtual race challenge inviting Dunkin’ fans to run or walk throughout August for a good cause. All proceeds from the run will go to organizations supporting children in underserved communities.

According to Market Watch, in 2019 the Dunkin’ brand has a $1.37B sales/revenue, a gross income of $671.57M and  cost of goods sold $698.65M.

Pets have the power to help those who suffer from depression, anxiety and stress. Dogs encourage playfulness, encourage exercise and improve health. Playing with pets can elevate levels of serotonin and dopamine. For children, animals are able to provide them with love and companionship making the child feel more important and increase confidence.
