Chubby Organics, a Los Angeles-based nut butter and jam company, have announced a new grab-and-go packaged superfood sandwich, today. They took a classic peanut butter and jam sandwich and turned it into a superfood product with organic ingredients. This gives consumers a sense of nostalgia with a twist of healthy ingredients to satisfy their taste buds.

The sandwiches swap out the preservatives and other “junk” in a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and uses high-quality, organic and whole food ingredients, making an upgrade to the traditional sandwich. These sandwiches filled with quality ingredients include nutritional macros similar to protein bars.

“Our marquee flavor, Blueberry Jam & Almond Butter, contains 13g of protein, 20g of organic whole grain net carbs (incl. 9g of fiber), and only 5g of natural sugar sweetened by Medjool Dates,” says Dillon Ceglio, Chubby Organics Founder.

There are four flavors that have been introduced to the market: Blueberry Jam & Almond Butter, Blueberry Jam & Hazelnut Butter, Strawberry Jam & Almond Butter, Strawberry Jam & Sunflower Butter.

The sandwiches are made fresh in small batches in Los Angeles on a weekly basis. They must be refrigerated to stay fresh and can be kept fresh for 45 days. These pre-packaged nutritional sandwiches are the perfect on-the-go post workout snack, after-school treat, or even a great kickstarter to your day as a breakfast alternative.

Chubby Organics is in direct competition with Smucker’s Uncrustables Sandwiches. They too make packaged peanut butter and jam sandwiches sold in supermarkets. The sandwiches are pre-packaged to be put in the freezer and then placed outside the freezer in the morning to be enjoyed at lunchtime when it’s thawed and ready to eat. They have flavors such as Chocolate Hazelnut Spread, Peanut Butter & Grape Jam, Reduced Sugar Peanut Butter and Strawberry Sandwich on Whole Wheat, Peanut Butter & Honey, and many more.

Jif Peanut Butter has introduced squeezable packaging to make assembling a peanut butter and jelly sandwich a lot more convenient for consumers.
