Senior Information Technology Systems Specialist • Modular Medical, Inc., San Diego, CA

We're hiring our IT person. (Yes, the IT person.)

Modular Medical is a publicly traded San Diego medical device company building the Pivot™ insulin patch pump - a device designed to make pump therapy accessible to a much broader population of people living with diabetes. We're looking for a hands-on Senior IT Systems Specialist to be the senior IT presence for the entire company. Not a tier on a help desk. Not a specialist who only does identity. The IT person - who runs the systems, owns the security posture, picks up the ticket, and goes home knowing they kept the place running.

You'll own day-to-day operations across infrastructure, networking, identity, end-user support, and our SaaS stack (Microsoft 365, Entra ID, NetSuite, ADP, Concur, Salesforce, plus engineering tools like PLM and Qualio). You'll run our information security program, execute SOX IT general controls, maintain 21 CFR Part 11-compliant systems, partner with HR on onboarding and offboarding, manage vendors and licenses, and align with R&D on product cybersecurity.

What you bring: 5+ years of hands-on IT experience (2+ in a senior or lead role); strong working knowledge of Entra ID/Azure AD, modern endpoint management, networking (LAN/WAN, VPN, firewalls, Wi-Fi), and SaaS administration; hands-on infosec operations across identity, endpoint, email, and SaaS; and prior experience supporting a regulated environment with formal change control, audits, and documented procedures. Working knowledge of 21 CFR Part 11, CSV/CSA, HIPAA, NIST CSF, ISO 27001, and FDA premarket cybersecurity guidance is essential. Bachelor's in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Industry certifications (Security+, Microsoft 365, ITIL, CISSP, CISM) and prior IT experience at a medical device, pharma, biotech, or NASDAQ/NYSE-listed company with SOX ITGC exposure are pluses.

Logistics: Full-time, exempt • San Diego, on-site (not remote) • less than 5% travel • occasional after-hours and weekend availability for maintenance and incident response • salary range $115,000 - 155,000..
