The Israeli Society of Gene and Cell Therapy 2022 Meeting Will Bring Researchers Together

The Israeli Society of Gene and Cell Therapy 2022 Meeting Will Bring Researchers Together

The Israeli Society of Gene and Cell Therapy (ISGCT) is hosting its upcoming annual meeting in-person this year to encourage networking and the sharing of information about genetic and cellular therapies.

The Israeli Society of Gene and Cell Therapy (ISGCT) is dedicated to bringing together researchers and scientists who study genetic and cellular therapies.

The aim of the ISGCT is to foster and maintain strong scientific communities in this field of research. To achieve this, the ISGCT organizes annual meetings to support the sharing of ideas and data, encourage collaborations, focus on shared challenges and improve clinical translation.

The Society acknowledges and reflects on the ground-breaking contributions of Israeli researchers who strive to improve health and treat diseases with gene and cell therapies. This year, the ISGCT 2022 hybrid event will be held on Thursday February 10th, 2022, in Tel-Aviv, Israel. This 2022 meeting will also have a free online panel discussion about gene delivery technologies for therapeutic applications here.

As of now, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved 22 gene and cell therapy products. Currently there are more than 100 diseases, including cancer and rare diseases, under investigation for prospective treatment with gene and cell therapies. There are hundreds of clinical trials for gene and cell therapies in progress worldwide.

The ISGCT 2022 organizing committee this year includes Dr. Adi Barzel, Senior Lecturer at Tel Aviv University, Dr. Dinorah Friedmann-Morvinski, Associate Professor at Tel Aviv University and Dr. Ayal Hendel, Principal Investigator at Bar-Ilan University.

The ISGCT 2022 event will host guest speakers from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Bar-Ilan University, Tel Aviv University, Technion, Sheba Medical Center and other institutions and companies. The Keynote lecture this year will be given by Gidi Rechavi, Sheba Cancer Research Center, Israel, and is entitled “Therapeutic Arena.”
