October marks Breast Cancer Awareness Month, with new research adding to the conversation around how breast cancer detection and screening could change. An analysis published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute found that overdiagnosis may be much lower than previously estimated, at less than 5% when differences in trial design and follow-up were taken into account.
Could a breath test help detect breast cancer? Breathe BioMedical is evaluating a breath-based test for women with dense breasts as an adjunct to mammography, with its multicenter study expanding to Canada this year after launching at sites in the US.
